About
Black Willow Woodworking was started by Justin Richardson on the idea that quality products do not have to cost a fortune to be beautiful and functional. Justin takes great pride in designing and building everything that comes out of the shop.
Moving from rural Kingston to study architecture in Ottawa, he came to the realization that his talent for design was equally matched by his desire to build. For that reason, he enrolled in the furniture and cabinetmaking program at Algonquin College and following graduation, joined a custom woodworking shop. With the knowledge and experience he gained, he was able to earn his Red Seal Cabinetmaking designation.
Since 2014, he teaches part-time at Algonquin college to share his love for woodworking, in the same program he took several years earlier.
In 2016, he started up Black Willow Woodworking allowing him to further pursue his dream of designing and building quality handmade wood products.
